From February 7 to March 22, 2026, the Historiographical Institute, The University of Tokyo will host the special exhibition “Collecting, Transmitting, and Compiling Historical Materials: The Past and Present of the Historiographical Institute, The University of Tokyo” at the Ibaraki Prefectural Museum of History.
In addition to showcasing representative historical materials held by the Historiographical Institute—including National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties—as well as materials associated with Ibaraki Prefecture, the exhibition introduces new approaches to historical studies using digital technologies. These initiatives are presented as part of the newly established Center for Collaborative Research on Historical Resources, launched in the current academic year.
Prior to the opening of the exhibition, an opening ceremony was held on February 6, 2026, which was attended by Professor Sekimoto, Director of CSIS, and Project Assistant Professor Mizobuchi.
For this exhibition, CSIS, in collaboration with the Digital Spatial Society, is contributing to the display titled “Integrating Historical Materials and Digital Twin Technologies.” As part of the UTokyo Digital Twin Project, CSIS has jointly developed with the Historiographical Institute a 3D visualization of place names based on the Hioki Kitago Ezu (Illustrated Map of Hioki Kitago), which is being presented in the exhibition.

2026年2月7日～3月22日に、東京大学史料編纂所が主催する企画展「史料を集め、伝え、そして編む – 東京大学史料編纂所の過去と現在」が茨城県立歴史館で開催されます。
本展示は、史料編纂所が所蔵する国宝・重要文化財をはじめとする代表的な史料や茨城県ゆかりの史料などの展示に加え、今年度に設置された史料学協創センターの新たなこころみとしてデジタル技術を用いた新しい史料学の取り組みが紹介されています。
開催に先立ち、2026年2月6日に開催されたオープニングセレモニーには、センター長の関本教授と溝淵特任助教が参加いたしました。
本展示では、当センター及びデジタル空間社会連携研究機構が、「史料とデジタルツイン技術の融合」と題し、東大デジタルツインプロジェクトの一環として史料編纂所と共同開発した日置北郷絵図地名3Dを出展協力しております。
