CSIS presented a variety of exhibits and hands-on activities related to spatial information science at UTokyo Kashiwa Open Campus 2026, held on October 23-24.
Visitors had the opportunity to experience VR and spatial reality displays. We also showcased research posters, examples of spatial information visualization, and 3D terrain models, as well as projection mapping on a 3D city model.
In addition, we offered a “Guess the Location” quiz featuring views from above, a hands-on activity using online maps provided by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI), mini-drone piloting, and discussions on socioeconomic topics. We also organized a quiz trail, where visitors explored the venue while answering questions about maps and spatial information.
Over the two days, we welcomed approximately 700 visitors of all ages. The event provided visitors with an opportunity to explore spatial information science through fun and interactive experiences.

Highlights from the Open Campus
10月23日（金）〜24日（土）に開催された東京大学柏キャンパス一般公開2026において、当センターでは、空間情報科学に関するさまざまな展示や体験企画を実施しました。
会場では、VRや空間再現ディスプレイなどを体験できるコーナーを設けたほか、研究紹介ポスターや空間情報の可視化事例、地形模型などを展示し、3D都市模型へのプロジェクションマッピングも行いました。
また、上空から見た画像をもとに場所を当てるクイズや、国土地理院の地図をウェブ上で利用する体験企画、ミニドローンの操縦体験、社会経済に関するディスカッションなど、多彩な企画を実施しました。さらに、会場内を巡りながら地図や空間情報にまつわる問題に挑戦するクイズラリーも行いました。
2日間で延べ約700名の方々にご来場いただきました。子どもから大人まで幅広い世代の皆さまに、楽しみながら空間情報科学に触れていただきました。
