The SCAT Awards, presented by the Support Center for Advanced Telecommunications Technology Research (SCAT), is presented to researchers who have made significant contributions to the safety and security of citizens’ lives through research and development in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Award recipients are selected each December, and certificates and prizes are presented at the SCAT Awards Ceremony held in January.
Professor Kaoru Sezaki has been recognized for his sustained and internationally distinguished research achievements over many years in the field of location-based communication services, and received the Chairman’s Grand Prize 2025.

Award recipient’s speech
一般財団法人テレコム先端技術研究支援センター（SCAT） 表彰は、ICT（情報通信技術）の研究開発により国民生活の安全安心に寄与するなど多大な貢献のあった研究者に授与するものです。例年、受賞者は12月に決定され、翌年1月開催のSCAT表彰式において、表彰状および副賞が贈呈されます。
瀬崎薫教授は、長年に渡り位置依存型通信サービスに関して国際的に卓越した研究成果を継続的に挙げてきたことが高く評価され、2025年度会長大賞を受賞しました。
