Description of the target of the symposium

The symposium will be held as a part of national exhibition "Geo-spatial Expo". Integrated use of geo-spatial information and services (e.g. satellite images, GIS data, satellite positioning data/services, ocean survey data, navigation services and etc) can contribute to many societal benefit areas especially safety and security. A key for successful contribution is how to integrate and to adopt them to applications in Asian countries by receiving feed-backs from and promoting international collaboration for further development with Asian users, developers and researchers. Target of the symposium is to discuss about a R&D strategy for integrated use of geo-spatial information/services ("geo-intelligence technology") and collaborative policy directions, envisioning that geo-intelligence technology will be commonly applied to Asian countries, not limited to Japan.
